About Us

We grow our products with care on our eastern Connecticut farm fields, supporting the local economy and the sustainability of local farming.

Since 1978, this 175-acre farm, located in Preston, Connecticut and once a pasture for dairy cows, has evolved from 2 acres of cut-your-own Christmas trees into a farm ripe with pick-your-own blueberries, raspberries, and blackcurrants. We strive to give our customers the very best quality and service.

Black Currants

Best berry for health

What are Black Currants?

In 1998, Allyn Brown began growing black currants, a deep purple fruit, with four times the vitamin C of oranges, more antioxidants than blueberries, and rich in iron, potassium, and organic acids. Today, he is the largest black currant grower in North America, boasting about 60 acres of the crop. He grows, harvests, and crushes the berries to make various blends of black currant juice drinks under the name Currant Affair. Currant Affair Black Currant Juice and Currant Affair Black Currant Juice Blends are available at supermarkets in the northeast and beyond.
